This is my first experience with game development. Before Skylost, I was an art school junior focusing on visual development for animation. Skylost opened up the game industry to me as an exciting career possibility.

In the one-year development cycle of Skylost, I led a team of 10 artists. I communicated with the director to bring his artistic vision to life, drew concept art to set visual foundations, sat with 3D artists to adjust assets in the engine, created art-direction docs, wrote notes on every artist's work to make sure they fit the project's style, and delivered the project successfully at the end of year on USC Games Expo 2022.

Skylost gave me the chance to experience the hard work and important role of an art director to bring a whole team's artistic vision together.

The project also helped me realize the intrinsic joy that game development brings me - the interactive nature of games and seeing players' reaction to the immersive story our team created is something that only game development can spark.
